NORTHFIELD NIGHTBOTS
Sponsorship Packet
Welcome to Our Team
Welcome to FIRST Robotics Team 10686, the "Nightbots," representing Northfield High School located in Denver. Our aim is to offer STEM opportunities to high school students in underrepresented and underserved communities in Denver. By designing and constructing robots for competitions, we provide hands-on experiences in mechanical engineering, programming, and business management. These skills help nurture future leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and equip them for STEM-based careers.
Our Mission & Impact
Annually, we participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition, the foremost robotics event for high school students. This competition serves as an excellent platform to inspire and motivate high schoolers of all backgrounds to pursue careers in STEM by working on projects that encourage collaboration and teamwork. However, we rely on fundraising to purchase materials, tools, and meet travel expenses for the competition.
Our 3+ weekly practices are designed to be engaging, targeted and hands-on, ensuring that our members get the most out of each and every session. We dedicate 15 hours per week to preseason training, which allows us to hone our skills and develop new strategies that will give us the best possible outcome during our competitions.
Growing Team, Growing Impact
As we grow in numbers, we strive to make sure every member has a role to play in our success. With over 40 dedicated students on our team, each working on important tasks and contributing their own unique strengths, we've found our expenses have increased.
That's why we rely on donations, grants, and sponsorships from our community to help us cover the costs of building our robots and traveling to competitions. We have set an ambitious fundraising goal of $40,000, which will enable us to compete on a national level and showcase our skills to a wider audience.
But it's not just about us. We also want to give back to our community and help others who are interested in robotics. This year we plan to cultivate the growing national interest in high school robotics by mentoring a new team and helping them enter an FTC competition.
